I’m a NJ Family Photographer (and beyond!) Here is more about me:

Call me Rou. I haven’t introduced myself as Eroula since college and I likely won’t ever do so again. :)

A little about me. Single mom of 3. My kids are my absolute heart, soul, and happiness. It’s us against the world and I love it that way. I never feel like I have enough photos of them. They grow so quickly and photos are so special to look back on, aren’t they? I think we should all capture and document our lives more. Both professionally and on the daily. Sometimes all we are left with are images.

I grew up in a family of foodies and artists. My dad’s side was restaurants. I love food! Cooking, hosting, eating, all of it! My mom’s side were the creatives. My mom was a fashion designer and is still an amazing artist. Her father was a well known iconographer as well. It’s in the blood! But my mom instilled in me a passion to create. She ignited my love of photography at a young age. I used to carry a camera EVERYWHERE! I wanted to go to art school for college but I panicked and felt I didn’t fit in. So I took what I felt was an easy way out (since I had no idea what I wanted to do) and followed my brother’s footsteps and graduated from NYU with a BA in communication studies. I got a job in online marketing where I learned quite a lot of mixed things including web design, coding, online advertising, and even picked up how to do some basic graphic design. It was fun but I went off and had babies and eventually my passion for photography turned into a side gig and then a full blown career path. Somehow it just snowballed, I got published in multiple publications globally, and it took off. I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR IT!

My style is constantly evolving, as am I, but it is pretty consistently simple and uncomplicated. It can be a little moody, a little edgy, sometimes ethereal and playful, but always 100% genuine. I really love to capture REAL feeling moments. Raw emotion is everything. Yes, the posed shots and some minimal props here and there are always beautiful and fun. But I want to depict emotion in my work. It is often the in between shots that ignite my soul when I get to capture the SOUL. I shoot everything from newborns/maternity to events, boudoir, fitness, families, engagements, literally everything. I will never limit myself because the more I shoot the more inspired I am. I am proud of my work and I will always deliver what makes my clients’ happy, while staying true to my style. Choosing a photographer is a very personal decision—you have to both like their style/talent and also them as a human, we get to spend time together and create TOGETHER so a connection is certainly important! I am minimal with my props, and my editing is also light. I will edit to perfect the image based on my vision but I will never alter what people look like or overly edit them. I want you to look and feel like ‘you’, just in the best way. Trust my vision, I will show you what I see through my perspective. One of the best feelings is when people do a shoot with me and tell me they simply can’t stop looking at the photos and can’t believe its them and that I made them look so good. I love to contribute to people’s confidence. I will show you yourself in a different light!
